CAPA EOR Delegation is set to visit Daqing and Shengli Oilfields in June 1 – 7, 2008 |
The famous Daqing and Shengli oilfields are the flagship of China’s oil industry. Discovered in 1959 and 1961, Daqing has produced 11.7 billion barrels of oil and 3.15 tcf of gas and Shengli has produced 5.7 billion barrels of oil and 1.38 tcf of gas. The current production rates are 1,000,000 and 640,000 barrels of oil per day, respectively. The enhanced oil recovery (EOR) technologies employed in these two fields are world class and produced impressive results for many years. Recently, CAPA formed a delegation of EOR and related engineering experts, slated to visit these two fields June 1 through June 7. During the visit, we will exchange learnings between CAPA members and the colleagues in Daqing and Shengli oilfields. Although short in duration, we believe this field trip will serve as a significant step towards in-depth technical exchanges among CAPA members and China’s national oil companies. |
